Why have the Confluence and Bitbucket releases of Identity Federation for AWS been archived?

Identity Federation for AWS aims to be a cross-product solution and the Confluence and Bitbucket editions had been published in anticipation of releases of Automation for AWS for the respective host products.

The earlier than expected Atlassian Server end of life required us to pivot towards a Cloud-first app development strategy right away, and we are currently working on reimagined Cloud releases of this app family – however, while we intend to backport the new features to the Server and Data Center releases of Identity Federation for AWS (Jira), this is not possible for Confluence and Bitbucket for technical reasons out of our control and requires us to re-release the apps once their Cloud editions will become available.

Jira and Bamboo remain supported

Both Identity Federation for AWS (Jira) and Identity Federation for AWS (Bamboo) are not affected by the technical limitation and will remain supported beyond the Atlassian Server end of life via their resp. Data Center editions – please get in touch if you have any questions regarding our future Cloud and Data Center roadmaps.

Confluence and Bitbucket remain in scope

While we will focus on a Cloud-first app development approach going forward, the Confluence or Bitbucket Data Center editions of Identity Federation for AWS remain in scope – if you are interested, please get in touch so that we can learn more about your use case to inform our roadmap.
