Identity Federation for AWS 2.17 Release Notes

The Utoolity team is pleased to present Identity Federation for AWS 2.17 – this release adds support for providing AWS security credentials via IAM role for EKS service accounts (IRSA).

If you have provisioned your Atlassian workloads on the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), you can now enable the IAM role for EKS service accounts credentials provider to benefit from the convenience and flexibility of providing temporary AWS security credentials via IAM roles for service accounts.

Highlights (Core)

Provide AWS security credentials via IAM roles for service accounts

Enable the IAM role for EKS service accounts credentials provider to provide temporary AWS security credentials via IAM roles for service accounts (IRSA) for Atlassian workloads provisioned on the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS).

Alternatively, you can also enable the IAM role for EC2/ECS credentials provider to provide temporary AWS security credentials on Amazon EKS via EKS Pod Identities.
