Configuring Automation with AWS

Configuring Automation with AWS comprises providing AWS security credentials and ensuring access to appropriate AWS resources:

  1. (Optional) Provision dedicated AWS security credentials (you can also reuse existing AWS security credentials) – refer to Providing AWS Security Credentials for details.

  2. Configure required IAM permissions for the actions you intend to use – refer to Providing AWS Security Credentials for details.
    Use the provided CloudFormation Templates to provision appropriate IAM resources. 

  3. Configure at least one AWS Connector with System scope – refer to Administering Identity Federation for AWS for details.

  4. Ensure users have access to existing or the ability to provision new AWS resources for the actions you intend to use, for example a SNS topic or a Lambda function – refer to Provisioning AWS Resources for details.
