You are using an AWS related Utoolity app but do not want to use the 'AWS Resources' top level menu item provided by the included Identity Federation for AWS.
Step-by-step guide
As an administrator, perform these steps in the product's administration section:
go to "Manage apps"
locate and expand the "Identity Federation for AWS" app entry in the app list
locate and expand the "x of x modules enabled" menu link in the right column of the app details entry
locate the 'AWS Resources Link on AWS Resources Section' (ifaws-aws-resources-link) module entry in the module list
click the 'Disable' button appearing when hoovering over the module entry
navigate to another page to verify that the menu is not displayed anymore
No security impact
Disabling this user interface component has no security impact, because the underlying functionality can still be accessed via the REST API, which remains accessible for all authenticated users. To restrict the users authorized to create AWS console sign-in URLs, ensure to only authorize the desired Groups when Configuring an AWS Connector.
Identity Federation for AWS as component for other Utoolity apps
Identity Federation for AWS is a shared authentication component used by all other AWS related Utoolity apps in the Atlassian Marketplace. Due to also providing value on its own, we opted to publish it as a separate app that can be used standalone as well. Regardless, Identity Federation for AWS is required by other Utoolity apps and cannot be disabled as such, though please note the following:
- usage of Identity Federation for AWS is free when used together with other Utoolity apps (works automatically – free licenses available, but not required)
- while recommended, usage of Identity Federation for AWS is not yet technically required when using Tasks for AWS (Bamboo) for legacy reasons, but likely will be at some point in the future
- if you do not want to use some of the user facing Identity Federation for AWS components, refer to the following how-to articles:
